Following fantastic growth of the charity, Olly Williams has stepped up to the Mark. Eden-Rose Coppice Trust, the cancer retreat in the very heart of Sudbury, has experience a big increase of users of the Cancer retreat.
Rob says ”With the growth of our charity comes the headache of trying to fund all our activities, finding the money is always a problem for us”
Olly Williams, who has a place in the London marathon in just over a month’s time, has lined himself up to raise funds to buy tools and other equipment. The tools are used by children with profound learning disabilities to maintain the woodland whilst gaining life skills. Olly has launched his Justgiving web page to raise a minimum of £1000 to help the children and the cancer Charity. Olly says ” A thousand pounds hardly covers the cost of the equipment the charity needs at the moment equipment but I’m personally aware of the difficulties Cancer can cause and am aware of the success the charity has had with the children both with complex needs or profound learning disabilities.
Olly hopes to run the marathon in under 4 hours and has been training really hard. “when you have the support of friends sponsoring the charity training has a real meaning”
“Without the support of people like Olly, Rob says, our charity would not be able to deliver the service we like”
The woodland retreat currently looks after 14 families living with cancer and over 50 children with profound learning disabilities.
